Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. is a 23-year old Michigan-born rapper, social media personality, and businessman. Most fans know him by his stage name, DDG. Darryl was born back on October 10th, 1997.
A stint at Central Michigan University inspired him to start making videos which he later uploaded on YouTube. DDG would later get a deal with a major label that helped him release tracks such as Meet me in the lobby, Cotton Mouth, and Well Off.
Darryl’s popularity can also be reflected on Instagram, where he has 3.9 million followers. Read about his net worth and finances in this article.
Before he became celebrated for his music albums, DDG was a well-known YouTuber. He started the channel back on the 26th of July 2014. Presently, it has an impressive following of 2.28 million subscribers.
At the start of his career as a content creator, DDG reportedly earned at least $30,000 every month on YouTube. It is a figure that went on to increase as he grew more popular.
Gradually, DDG decided to switch his focus to music, signing a multi-million dollar contract with Epic Records. Today, DDG is estimated to have a net worth of $1.5 million.
If the rumors are to be believed, DDG reportedly bought a lavish mansion that is presently valued at $2 million. On YouTube, he revealed that he was looking at houses in the same neighborhood as Drake. Other than owning a beautiful house, Darryl also enjoys his fast cars.
He has been photographed driving cars like a white Rolls Royce Phantom, and even a 2019 BMW i8. From this, we can ascertain that DDG is a musician who likes to live large, enjoying all the fruits that a successful music career has brought him.
We can trace DDG’s music career back to when he was a child. At the time, his father was an engineer who worked at a studio. This would serve as DDG’s first platform to unleash his music potential. Most of the early songs he released were diss tracks, with one in particular track targeting Lil Yatchy.
2017 also saw him drop his debut EP, which was titled ‘Givenchy.’ The song blew up, garnering about 25 million views in the process. This propelled DDG to stardom, especially once Epic Records came knocking on his door a year later.
